This single malt from Glen Scotia is matured in specially selection American oak ex-bourbon barrels for 15 years before bottling.
This creates layers of ginger, vanilla, sea spray and baking spice throughout the palate.

Glen Scotia 15 Year Old won a silver medal in the prestigious 2020 World Spirits Competition in San Francisco. The competition is renowned for its high standards, and not only did all of Glen Scotia’s entries win medals but Glen Scotia 25 Year Old was awarded a platinum medal, signifying that it had been awarded the top-flight double-gold medal at the competition for three years running.
ABOUT GLEN SCOTIA
Founded in 1832, Glen Scotia has established itself as one of Campbeltown’s best producers and helped the region become one of Scotland’s whisky-producing giants. Soon after Glen Scotia was founded there was a boom of whisky production in the town, and in 1835 it was one of 29 distilleries operating in Campbeltown. However, what goes up must come down, and by 1929 only three distilleries were left, Glen Scotia among them. It’s had a few brief closures since then, but today Glen Scotia remains not only operational but a much-loved bastion of the region’s classic style.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE | Broad and medium-weight with citrus peels, ginger snap biscuits. Sweet and with great depth. Apricot aromas develop then drift towards fruit salad. After a short time the wood come to the fore and water helps to release baked fruit. |
PALATE | A complicated palate where the initial nose would lead you to expect plump fruits, what you get is a surprisingly dry element. The palate fleshes out as the first impact of the nose fades. Adding water brings out the caramelised elements balanced with the wood elements expected of a 15 year old. |
FINISH | Firm and slightly dry. |
