13 Year Old Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Casks Parcel 7
70cl / 48%
A 2007 Lowland single malt from a mystery distillery that was matured in a pair of ex-bourbon barrels and one ex-sherry butt for 13 years, before being bottled in 2021 by Elixir Distillers, as part of its Single Malts of Scotland Reserve Cask Parcel 7. Aromas of grapefruit, juicy raisins, grape-flavoured bubble gum and flinty river rock pools fill the nose, complemented by notes of grapefruit juice, flaky shortcrust pastry, burnt caramel, treacle cake and lemon juice throughout the palate.

TASTING NOTES
NOSE | Initially sharp, with notes of grapefruit pith, softening out with a drop of water into aromas of juicy raisins and grape bubble gum. A slightly fresh and flinty quality, reminiscent of river rock pools, appears to add a characterful edge. |
PALATE | A glass of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice initially, followed by flaky, buttery shortcrust pastry. This proceeds into intense, rich burnt caramel notes - like that of a treacle cake left a little too long in the oven. |
FINISH | A tanginess rests on, like that of concentrated lemon juice. |
